Silentium - Федор Тютчев

Be silent, move aside and hide
Both dreams and feelings of your mind,
Let them, forever, rise and set,
Within your soul’s depth as yet,
In silence, as the stars at night, –
Admire them - keep words aside.

How can a heart express its core?
Can any stranger know you more?
To learn your living, will he try?
A thought being told is just a lie.
Untroubled springs are running bright, –
So live on them – keep words aside.

Try to achieve an inner goal,
The real world is within your soul
Of thoughts, you readily rejoice,
They couldn’t stand the utter noise,
The daily fuss keeps off delight –
Just listen to them - keep words aside!..

version before being renovated:

Be silent, move aside and hide
Both dreams and feelings of your mind,
Let them, forever, rise and set,
Within your soul’s depth as yet,
In silence, as the stars at night, –
Admire them - in solemn quiet.

How can a heart express its core?
Can any stranger know you more?
To know you deeper, will he try?
A thought being told is just a lie.
Untroubled springs are running bright, –
So live on them - in solemn quiet.

Try to achieve an inner goal,
The real world is within your soul
Of thoughts, you readily rejoice,
That couldn’t stand the utter noise,
The daily fuss keeps off delight –
Just listen to them - in solemn quiet!..

the previous version:

Be silent, move aside and hide
Both dreams and feelings of your mind –
Let them, forever, rise and set,
Within your soul’s depth as yet,
In silence, as the stars at night, -
Watch them alone - and be quiet.

How can a heart express its view?
How does a stranger know you?
Will he conclude what is your life?
A thought being told is just a lie.
Untrouble springs, let them run bright, –
You’d better drink them - and be quiet.

Try to achieve an inner goal -
The real world is within your soul
Of thoughts, you readily rejoice,
Which couldn’t stand the utter noise,
The daily fuss keeps off delight -
Just hark them sining – and be quiet!..

Silentium - Ф. Тютчев (1830)

How can a heart express its view?
How does a stranger know you?
Will he conclude what is your life?
A thought being told is just a lie.
Untrouble springs, let them run bright, –
You’d better drink them - and be quiet.
