Oh, what a queer life:
They found your jack-knife -
They think it is a reason
To put you into prison!

Certainly I know
It was for you hard blow,
And now you're upset,
It's so bad, but yet

I beg: please easy take it.
I'm sure dear Jack -
You are not so black
As you are painted!
